Hello All Ive been on this forum for a while. and have learned very much from it. I've been through all 29 pages of "Da forum", and i like to think i've absorbed most of it . About a year ago I got my first neps (ventrata, miranda and gentle) and grew them in a 3ft terrarium. That has grown into a greenhouse and 45 different Neps and im in the process of getting more. Im a university student (thus financially challenged ) so my GH setup is very simple but the plants seem to like it. This forum is where i learned parameters of Nep growing from people posting all their different conditions and successes. from their I was able to tackle my climate and make a Nep Home Heres to hoping I learn alot more from all of you Tariq

Hi Tariq, and welcome to the forum, officially.
With you being from South Africa, if you are a football fan, you are going to have lots to keep you busy with the World Cup kicking off there on June 11.
And for being a university student, you have really jumped in with both feet to this, shall I say addicting hobby. We all know how alluring the call of Nepenthes can be, but for you to do this hobby on a budget is even more remarkable, and a great success story.
Keep us up to date on your progress, and maybe you can share some of the tricks and surprises you are learning along the way.
regards,
Doug dvg

Thanks for the official welcome Doug you should see the place. the country has been world cup crazy for the last few weeks now. looks like its going to be fun. I live quite close to one of the new stadiums, so thats going to be cool!! I just hope South Africa wins their first game I wonder if i would have gotten those first plants if i had known it would be this. . .addicting. . .probably would have . at least its a legal addiction hey. the budget part. . .it works okay. It makes things. . . interesting - takes alot of improvising. I dont have any of the "pricey" (not that any are cheap) plants, and growers in SA have helped me alot with getting plants. Nepenthes arent very easy to get hold of here. though I cant at the moment, I would Love to get an Eddie as well!! they were among the first Neps I knew about. that will be my crowning moment! where I can - I try to help. Thanks Again! Regards Tariq

No idea about arrival time. The first Eddies are making there way to the states and Europe right now, so i would imagine the next roll out will be in six months or so.
