It comes from intermediate/highland conditions, but grows even in ultra lowland... Temp, light and other cultivation techniques determine the color intensity of the pitchers. They seem to fade faster in lowland and look a little more green, but with air circulation and shadier conditions here in florida the intense color is possible especially because our cooler winters.

Can't wait for it to get its first pitchers in my care. It was grown ultra lowland and this colorful so with floridas winter temps should color up way nicer:)

Yeah, i think so - these are still quite young yet and showing some nice variability among the clones. Don't know what the parents look like but the fellow that sent the seed said that the parent's pitchers were shaped like red round balls. Here is another pic from last night. dvg

looks great DVG..are any looking squat and red? or mostly prostate and green bodied? do you know what parents looked like? non the less beautiful stripes!! Hi Dom, What i've been observing with these seedlings is that with each successive pitcher, the peristome is stealing a larger proportion of the overall height from the pitcher body. For example, the pitcher shown above was not as compact as the newest pitcher to form on that plant, shown below. Here is another example of one of these seedlings making squatter red pitchers - pitchers that should continue to become rounder and more compact with the coming new pitchers. dvg
