Description: DANSER 286
Stems: climbing; almost cylindrical exclusive of wings, which form saddles below, to 1.6- 2 cm thick.
Leaves: petiolate, slightly canaliculate, wings decurrent into 2 obtuse ribs; lamina lanceolate: 30 cm x 8 cm to 35 cm x 10 cm; apex obtuse; base abruptly contracted; longitudinal veins: none, pennate venation only.
Lower Pitchers: abruptly originating from tendril, sharply triangular in the curved part, broadly rounded at the base, slightly, but distinctly narrowed at half, slightly but distinctly infundibulate towards mouth: to 15 cm x 8 cm; 2 ribs with rudiment wings at top present; mouth oblique, acute towards lid; peristome cylindrical in front, flattened to .7 cm broad, ribs gradually coarser towards lid, to 0.3 cm wide; lid ovate, larger than mouth, to 15 cm, apex rounded, base cordate, wholly vaulted, inner surface with many hundreds of appendages in basal half, with exception of the margin, becoming nipple- like; spur not present.
Upper Pitchers: UNKNOWN
Inflorescence: a long raceme, to 60 cm; pedicels 2 flowered, 2 cm long; bracts not present.
Indumentum: on the stems, petioles, tendrils, inflorescence, andbelowleaves: wooly- or velvety- tomentose, almost none on upper leaf.
Color: lamina shining green, midrib yellow above, light- green below, tendril light- green, pitcher light- green, somewhat reddish near peristome, longitudinal ribs and peristome red, inner surface dark- red and shining above the narrowed part, lower yellow.
Distinguishing Features: intermediate between N. lowii and N. rajah..
