Synonyms: alba Ridl., bongso Ridl., ramispina Ridl., singalana Macf.
Description: DANSER 298
Stems: climbing; cylindrical to obtusely angular, to .25- 4 cm thick.
Leaves: clasping the stem; lamina spathulate- oblong to linear- lanceolate: 4 cm x 0.8 cm to 14 cm x 4 cm; apex acute or obtuse; base rounded or cordate; veins: 0- 4, located in the outer 1/4 of lamina, pennate nerves distinct or indistinct.
Lower Pitchers: campanulate- infundibulate in the lower part, slightly widened in the middle, cylindrical to the mouth: 4 cm x 1.5 cm to 10 cm x 2.5 cm; 2 fimbriate wings present, to 0.02 cm; mouth oblique, elevated to form neck; peristome cylindrical to flattened, to 0.15 cm wide; lid suborbicular to ovate, to .6- 3 cm, apex rounded, base cordate; spur branched or not, inserted .1- .2 cm from lid, to .2- 1 cm.
Upper Pitchers: narrowly infundibulate in the lower 2/5 part, slightly narrowed in middle, or gradually merging into the upper cylindrical part: 6 cm x 1 cm to 24 cm x 3.5 cm; 2 prominent ribs present; mouth oblique, elevated to form neck; peristome flattened- cylindrical, to .1- .2 cm wide; lid suborbicular to orbicular- ovate, to 1- 4 cm, apex rounded, base cordate, lid flat with few large framed glands and with delicate or coarse spreading bristles or not; spur flat, branched or not, inserted.1- .2 cm from lid, to .1- 1 cm.
Inflorescence: a raceme, to 30 cm; pedicels 1- 2 flowered,.4- 1 cm long; bracts filiform.
Indumentum: sparse or none in vegetative parts, rarely velvety or tomentose on stems, inflorescence hirsute when young.
Color: pitchers green or white with dark- purple spots, often densely spotted.
Distinguishing Features: very similar to N. macfarlanei and N. sanguinea.
