Synonym: neoguineensis Ridl.
Description: DANSER 347, JEBB 40
Stems: climbing; cylindrical, to .5- .7 cm thick.
Leaves: sessile, canaliculate, with a semi- amplexicaul sheath to stem; lamina lanceolate, coriaceous: 15 cm x 2.5 cm to 30 cm x 5 cm; apex acute; base attenuate; veins: 4- 6, located in the outer 2/3 of lamina, pennate nerves numerous, forming an irregular network.
Lower Pitchers: obliquely ovoid in lower part, gradually narrowed towards mouth: 3 cm x 1.25 cm to 6 cm x 2.5 cm; 2 wings present, sometimes fimbriate, to 0.6 cm; mouth oblique, acute towards lid; peristome flattened, to 0.2 cm wide; lid orbicular, to 3 cm, apex rounded, base cordate, glandular, with small filiform appendages on either side of spur; spur simple, flattened, inserted near lid.
Upper Pitchers: shortly infundibulate in basal part, ovoid to 1/3 its length, then wholly cylindrical or slightly attenuate and dilated at mouth: 12 cm x 2.5 cm to 15 cm x 4 cm; 2 narrow wings present, sometimes fimbriate, to 0.6 cm wide; mouth oblique, acute towards lid; peristome flattened, to 0.3 cm wide; lid orbicular, to 3 cm, apex rounded, base cordate, lid glandular, rarely with the start of a keel near the basal part of midrib or conical appendage near the apex; spur simple, flattened, inserted near lid, to .2- .3 cm.
Inflorescence: a raceme, to 25 cm; pedicels 1- 2 flowered, 1.5 cm long.
Indumentum: sparse, but sometimes dense beneath blade margin.
Color: pitchers pale green externally, with few red flecks, but darkly pigmented within.
Distinguishing Features: pitchers unhipped; wings, larger mouths on upper, short petiole, less distinct pennate nerves
