N. truncata Macfarlane (1911) Philippines; Moss Forest Synonym: megamphora Merr. & Quis.
Stems: climbing. Leaves: petiolate; lamina oblong; apex emarginate; base abruptly contracted. Lower Pitchers: tubulose, slightly contracted from base to mouth; mouth oblique; peristome cylindrical to flattened; lid ovate, apex rounded, base rounded, lid keeled; spur simple. Upper Pitchers: abruptly originating from tendril, broadly rounded in the lower part, slightly contracted, and then tubulose to narrowly infundibulate in the upper part; 2 prominent ribs present; mouth oblique; peristome expanded, undulate along external margin, narrower at front, elongated into neck, to 1- 3.5 cm wide; lid elliptic- ovate, apex rounded, base rounded, lid keeled. Inflorescence: a raceme. Indumentum: coarse, ferrugineous. Color: leaves dark green, sometimes with flecks of red, pitchers green to reddish green, peristome green to red, lid like pitcher.
