Borneo; Moss Forest, Lowland & Highland (100 - 1200 m)
Synonyms: lanata Mast. & Lindl., sanguinea Mast.
Description: DANSER 392
Stems: not climbing, or epiphytic, to 1 m; flattened, elliptical with or without 2 decurent wings, to cm thick.
Leaves: petiolate, canaliculate, amplexicaul with flattened sheath, rarely decurrent; lamina narrow cuneate or spathulate, lanceolate: 16 cm x 4 cm to 25 cm x 10 cm; apex acute to emarginate; base rounded or tapering; veins: 3-4, located in the outer 1/3 to 1/2 of lamina, pennate veins irregularly reticulate.
Lower Pitchers: gradually originating from petiole, campanulate- infundibulate in the lower part, widest at or somewhat below the middle, slightly narrowed towards the mouth: 15 cm x 4 cm to 28 cm x 10 cm; 2 widely fimbriate wings present, to .4- 1.4 cm; mouth incurved and acuminate; peristome expanded 1- 6 cm broad towards lid, elongated into short neck, to .4- 1.5 cm wide; lid narrowly ovate, to .3- .9 cm, apex obtuse, base cordate, much smaller than the mouth, with a laterally flattened appendage near the apex, glandular; spur simple, inserted few mm from lid, to .5- 1 cm.
Upper Pitchers: smaller, campanulate- infundibulate, widest near mouth: to 17 cm x 4.5 cm; 2 wings present, not as wide below, to 0.5 cm wide; mouth incurved & acuminate; peristome expanded 1- 6 cm broad towards lid, elongated into short neck, to .4- 1.4 cm wide; lid narrowly ovate, to .3- .9 cm, apex obtuse, base cordate, lid much smaller than the mouth, with a laterally flattened appendage near the apex, glandular; spur simple, inserted few mm from lid, to .5- 1 cm.
Inflorescence: a raceme, to 40 cm; pedicels 2 flowered, 1- 1.2 cm long; bracts not present.
Indumentum: long, hirsute spreading, young stems dense, leaves glabrous above except midrib, tendril, young pitchers also.
Color: pitchers light green to yellow, yellowish red, peristome yellow to yellowish red with red stripes.
