Has anybody heard anything about the giant BE-3321 N. spectabilis seed grown plants? I decided to take a chance on ordering one of those and as luck would have it, I happened to be in the right place at the right time. I should have the plant in a week or so. Does anybody else have this one or is getting one of them?

Oh?....What would make you say something like that? Here are a couple of pics of the plant: just received, just out of the bag, and just potted up in a five inch pot. I was impressed with the pitcher to leaf ratio, which appears to be 1.5 : 1, thus far.

Because BE's standards in having a species conformation is not as strict as some others. Their philosophy that their N. sibuyanensis could be back crossed generations with N. argentii is acceptable as being a true N. sibuyanensis.
The idea that N. platychila has tendencies of N. fusca and still be acceptable as N. platychila worries me (yet there are several forms leading to the idea that there are true N. platychila and hybrid platychila bth being sold as N. platychila).
In their statement of selecting clones that conforms to the species identity and ONLY propagating those selected clones for sale bothers me that they seem to just propagate everything without regards to any kind of conformity bothers me deeply.
Previous species in question: N. merrilliana, N. macrophylla, N. sibuyanensis, N. platychila, N. bicalcarata, N. fusca, N. maxima, et al.

Hi , I just got word that Petflytrap.com is getting more Nepenthes truncata 'Queen of Hearts' x 'King of Spades' seedlings in a late Novemeber shipment, so you can order those now. They are also getting on the same order, northiana, albomarginata 'Brunei', additional sizes of ampullaria 'Brunei red speckled', danseri, fusca, hirsuta, lowii, macrovulgaris, truncata 'pasian', vieillardii, the three different spectabilis, bellii x truncata 'black', vent x spectabilis, (veitchii x lowii) x spectabilis, ampullaria 'Borneo Sunset'. They have really been working on beefing up the Nepenthes inventory. Also some EP stuff coming:

Here's BE's new releases for November 2009:
ampullaria Borneo Sunset- propogated from cuttings from a single seed raised clone so quantities are limited.
(veitchii x lowii) x spectabilis- from seed with less than 100 seedlings available
densiflora x truncata "King of Clubs"- from seed, limited release with good potential.
sibuyanensis x mira- from seed, limited release less than 100 seedlings
ampullaria x talangensis- already available but wasn't listed. Don't remember if from seed as initial offerings.

Some new offerings for December 2009 from BE. Also CP Jungle has a few listed that weren't on the availability list from what I could tell.

N. bicalcarata Sarawak Giant from seed and tc
N. bicalcarata "red short thorn" - Pitchers are red flush with teeth half of the size of normal. The plant may be of hybrid origin. BE lists as from a single clone
N. kongkandana - Seed grown plants. A newly named plant from Thailand. Very limited availability.
N. rafflesiana Obtained in-vitro from Singapore Botanic Gardens, this item may or may not be the same clone as BE-3352. Red speckled pitchers, probably typical form.

Not a brand new release anymore, but I thought it would be of interest to see how the "black truncatas" are doing now that they are getting established. Here are two of my plants. The pitchers are showing nice color already.
