N. ventricosa is part of this equation. But you need to guess what order and the rest of it. HINT: It has ingredients that doesn't indicate appearance. M

(spathulata x aristo) x (lowii x ventricosa) - I just got some from ep and it looks similar. OK, so I saw the picture on the hort. hybrid board, but you put the wrong order on the board so I should get points for correcting the order. Here are some of the ones I got from ep: This looks to be the best of the new lowii x ventricosa crosses and I can't wait to watch the aristo and lowii influences fight it out as these mature.

Very good Steve! I wasn't sure if anyone looked through the various areas of this site yet! Thanks for noticing the wrong sequence of the hybrid. Too many postings in too short a time frame, things can get dislexic!
Your plants are all different looking. I especially like that second to the last shot, showing strong lowii characteristics. This will be an interesting cross indeed! N. lowii will still be the strongest species I bet.

So do we post our discussion of this cross here or in the hort. hybrids section? I posted a couple other pics there along with my play-by-play. I think those last two came from the same plant. The first two are also from the same plant and are showing more of the aristo traits at the moment. I think this one exhibits the strongest lowii traits at the moment: What do you think of the different leaf types? 1st seems very ventricosa-like (pitcher in this post), 2nd more spathulata (1st 2 in previous post), 3rd , I'm really not too familiar with lowii or aristo leaves to tell.

This forum is divided into subsections that offer a wider audience of discussions to take place separately from those who like it more casual, to those seeking "intellectual" discussions, general topics, some pertaining to a specific species, and others in regional chapters of growing in their geo-site. You basically jump to those areas where a topic you posted in remains active. Some topics never get buried and those coming onto this forum can find topics which interest them, that may be for us several months old and buried in the daily discussions and new thread topics. The archival retrieval here is much easier to find since these topics are already subdivided into sub categories. The seedling leaves show a wide variety of species influence. The first thinner leafed seedling has a strong aristo-characteristic. The second could be spathulata-like and the last, more ventricosa in appearance. The seedling pitchers already have a heavier texture, a lowii characteristic at this stage.
Now guess the first Guess this Hybrid for something very different!
