This is a "one-off" from the N. Kohala grex (N. Kohala [N. (kampotiana x maxima) x (fusca x veitchii)] 06/04 LHNN). The pictures do not do it justice as it grabs your eye in the nursery. Unlike its brothers and sisters this young plant has very deep dark purplish coloration on an extremely vaulted peristome along with very heavy purple mottling on the pitcher body. The mouth of the pitcher begins at near the center of the pitcher giving it an almost rajah-like appeal. Even the foliage has a deep purple hue. There is something very regal about this particular plant. To see just how much difference there is between this individual and it's siblings look here

Uncle M,
That is a winner! TC that baby!! Just kidding. It really is nice. The veitchii must have contributed a lot to that one.

on an extremely vaulted peristome Wow. That is ridiculous. The peristome looks even more vaulted when the pitcher is tilted in the pictures. Possible cultivar status pending? xvart.

Amazing and one of the reasons I grow from seed. I can't wait to find something like that among my seedlings.
