NEPENTHEPHILIA cause that's what everyone thinks we're doing with our plants well at least the non eco or plant people.

Uncle Masa's Picks ..... fLORA nepenthaceae
vraev shows us that there is more to a good brand than just word play. Sounds like a reference but the clever fonting and colors gives it life. A nice mix of both art and science.
NEPENTHESEUM
One of my own. Where else to witness the glory and the specticle of nepenthes but at the Nepenthecium? This will be the name of what is now our "General" board.
AMAZING LEAVES
This will be the title to our "Nepenthes Art" board when we get one.

Why is the f lowercase though? I like the name, but that bothers me. Makes it look like f-LORA, and what the hell is that???

Flora Nepenthaceae. You get my definitive vote. Sounds cool. There's seduction (sexuality?) and science. All in two words.
François.

Yes .... the 'f' is lower case and so is the "n" in nepenthaceae. The colors are mandatory. fLORA nepenthaceae We're scientific and all .... but also colorful and not afraid to break a few rules.

Got to have a nickname - that's a bit too much of a mouthful for casual conversation.

We could incorporate a secondary title like Michael's "Nepenthes Resource Center". fLORA nepenthaceae "The Nepenthes Resource Center" Or mpaary's "wild wild East". ;D fLORA nepenthaceae "The Wild Wild East"

Either Flora Nepentheaceae or just plain Nepentheaceae sounds good. Its not a made up name or anagram of the real name. Although Flora Nepentheaceae does make it sound like it is a botanical journal. Nepenthes Resource Center as an underlying epithet will describe our functions and activities. This page is for everyone, scientifically minded and beginning or just our generation of newbies turned expert through experimentation and now we're nearing The Holy Grail of nepenthes!
I'm good on Flora Nepenthes if it comes to that!

I agree with Michael: Flora Nepenthaceae or just plain Nepenthaceae sounds very good and flowery (pun intended). A huge caveat here, though: "nepenthaceae" will be misspelled by most people (including me) in most cases - see rainforest's follow-up post right above this one, he added an extra "e" before the first "a". Search any CP forum, and you'll find four or five different spellings. Not everyone's a botanist or knows Latin, and in the long run this might become embarrassing.
PS: Who's Chatsworth, Sam?

We have a new default skin and logo. All credit and thanks go to Varun (vraev) for his excellent work in the design of both our new logo, site name and new skin. Those members who have been using other skins should now change their "profile" and select this new 'default' (flora nepenthaceae) skin. For those who were concerned about 'fLORA nepenthaceae' as a name ..... This site can be accessed from with any of the following names: www.floranepenthaceae.comwww.nepenthesresourcecenter.com www.alohanepenthes.comPlease note the small icon below the menu. By clicking on this icon you will open your messages center. I hope you all like the new design. I personally love it. Let's hear it for Varun! _________________ twoton ..... re: Chatsworth. I'm sorry this is a reference that probably out-dates you .... Chatsworth Osborne Jr. was a 'nerdy' rich kid on the "Dobie Gillis" show.

What is that icon supposed to be?
EDIT: ahhh I see its the same as the logo in the top left of the new skin. When it's that small, it looks like a fat guy with a top hat and a hole in him.
