Was the bird oriented in the pitcher beak down? Presumably it went in for something and got stuck, couldn't reorient itself, went deeper and drowned or starved?

xvart ..... I can't say for sure but it must have been face down.
I cut off the old pitcher and was slinging out the fluid when "plop" .... out came the bird.

very, very, very cool! The dubia's are amazing! Those hornet eating jaqs are incredible too! And a bird to top it off! Sweet!
