Hi there! I am very happy to find a forum exclusively dedicated to Nepenthes! They are my favourite genus of plants. I hope to learn a lot here! Michael

Greetings and salutations Michael! I believe you are our first member from Portugal. Is there any CP groups or growers there? Please describe to us how you grow these plants there, what is your climate and what species/hybrids have you grown thus far.

Hello Michael and Twoton! Greetings and salutations Michael! I believe you are our first member from Portugal. Is there any CP groups or growers there? Please describe to us how you grow these plants there, what is your climate and what species/hybrids have you grown thus far. Michael Oh... i forgot to mention.. i do not live in Portugal (continental) but in Madeira, a tiny island at the atlantic, near africa. Unfortunately i only know more 3 people that also like carnivorous plants in my country, but none of them seem to like Nepenthes that much, so they dedicate more to other types of carnivorous. Well, Madeira climate depends a lot of the position. For instance, near the sea (where i live) the climate is humid, in winter 10º at night 15-20º day, on summer 18-20ºc night and 25-27ºc day. But on the mountains it is much more cooler. I presume in Hawaii it happens the same thing, with the only exception that hawaii is a lot more tropical. Well only recently i am growing highland Nepenthes, because i built an highland greenhouse to helm me with the task, but i started growing lowlanders since 2001. This is my current plant list: Nepenthes ampullaria “Speckled” Nepenthes ampullaria “Cantley’s red” Nepenthes aristolochioides Nepenthes campanulata Nepenthes clipeata Nepenthes dubia Nepenthes eustachya Nepenthes eymae Nepenthes inermis Nepenthes jacquelinae Nepenthes lowii Nepenthes mira Nepenthes mirabilis var. echinostoma Nepenthes northiana x maxima Nepenthes platychila Nepenthes rafflesiana “Elongata” Nepenthes rajah Nepenthes x ventrata And about you Michael, you also grow only Nepenthes plants? Hawaii is an hotspot of diversity with many endemic plants! M

Hi Radjes!
Well, my growlist might be something, but it's quie insignificant if you compare it to the list of some of the other growers. ;D
Could someone from the moderating team move this topic to the right place then?
