Great find Son! Could be the long lost TRUE N. thorellii! Not sure about the others. Did you find any N. mirabilis around anywhere? Next time, PLEASE leave the roots in the ground, and just harvest a few cuttings and seed instead of digging up the entire plants, roots and all. The roots may contain disease and root parasites such as nematodes which could harm other plants. Cuttings root easily and quickly in just a few weeks, and seedlings grow to full maturity in just a few years. The original plants will recover and the population will remain in tact. Keep up the great work in finding Nepenthes in your country! There just might be something new that you have yet to discover! Let's hope we find them before they all go extinct due to habitat destruction! - Rich

Hello Son,
This plant, which looks somewhat like both N. 'Viking' and N. bokorensis, could be the true N. thorelii! Please check the flowers, are they single or double?
What does the other plant you are calling 'thorelii' look like? Have any photos?

Hello,
This is a great discovery. It's like rediscovering N. deaniana.
I'm convinced the plant in the 5 first pictures is the true N. thorelii which had not been seen in the wild since its description in 1909. I will go to Vietnam in february to make things sure and will collect herbarium samples and write a scientific paper and... a field report!
Wish me good luck!
François.

Ohi Ohi, come one guys, this is an anarchic forum, but there's no need to fight for these things! We all love Nepenthes. Mr. Hoi found the plants in the wild, Mr. Son posted the photos. That's fine. The only thing that should be made clear is: it's not good if one will find and dig up the plants, and the other will sell them. That's horrible (the most horrible thing ever!) and that's what we are ALL fighting against. Probably local growers are not aware of cuttings and seed techniques, so we are NOT saying that you are bad: you just don't know how to do it. So, thanks a lot for the photos in the wild, you found a great plant, but please don't dig up plants in the wild anymore! Hopefully François will get in touch with all these guys in loco, and talk about this VERY well.

Hello Tranminh, Are you talking to me or to one of your country mates? What's wrong about this Wikipedia article? Could you please elaborate? I don't know why you guys are fighting. Please, let me understand. François.
