Just joined message board a few weeks ago. I have been trying to save a few Judith Finns that I have bought a few months ago and thanks to this message board I have found help and -not so helpful information to save them.
About a month ago I traveled to the other side of the Big Island of the Island and met Sam and bought some really cool plants which are all doing great!
I have always had an interest in Carnivorous plants since I was a kid when I would order the kits in the comic books and plant Venus fly traps and other plants. I always lived in a dry climate like New Mexico and well the plants never did that well but I still was interested.
Now I moved to Hawaii about three years ago, and my interest has been reawakened and at 40 years old I am still just as interested as the 12 year old boy was many years ago.
I must confess that after spending an hour at Sam's nursury my Interest has turned into an ADDICTION, to Nepenthes, which I have never grown. I find myself getting checking my plants constantly to see what kinds of strange things are going on and what kind of changes occurred, like new pitchers forming, new insects caught, or just admiring their beautiful structures...
Thank you for opening this universe of beautiful plants...that I am sure will be a life long passion... My name is Avery and I am an Nepenethesaholic, I Now have five Judith Finns, One Huge pitcher hybrid - yet to be identified, One wasp catcher- another unidentified favorite, and baby that is full of pitchers- really five plants all together.
See ya!!
