I love this almost-black peristome... This appears to be the BE release of ventricosa X aristolochioides, yes? Looks much like two of the three I have. Very attractive!

Yes, it is, it was hard to get its exact ID, but it looks like it is finally defined as ventricosa x aristolochioides.

That is a giant Sam. How does it compare to that truncata that ate to rats when was there visiting?

Wow! love the almost glowing color. Seems to be almost no fusca influence in it, especially w the lack of speckling and color, did that come with age?

Sam, your plant shore looks like a N. ventricosa x merrilliana to me.

Good catch William. It's N. sibuyanensis x merrillianaChristian ... It's squat and not near as tall as truncata but it would seem to be near the same volume.

Sam, if you don't mind, can you please place a beer bottle next to the N. sib x mer for comparison. I don't drink soft-drinks.

I call this "N. eymae" but I'll be sure in a few years That lid reminds me of N. lingulata

William did you ever see sibuyanensis? Looks similar to ventricosa in texture and color. But fat! There's many Nepenthes that "look alike". My (Sibuyanensis x ventricosa) x merrilliana has a thick tendril will post when pitcher matures:)

Dont think they are that similar if you pay attention to the species traits involved. Yours is prostate (long bodied) And his is squat (from Sibuyanensis) The mouth is more oval in the vent cross and round in sib. Details William details;)
