Fresh new pitcher just opened on 'First Light' - Spathulata x (Spectabilis x Veitchii) Eymae x Ephippiata starting to color up and look more and more like it's Dad just when I'm feeling a little bit unimpressed w St. Hedwig it comes up with a wonderful large Glowstick-like pitcher! This thing is seriously glowing next to my normal collection of dark pitchers. everybody's favorite unknown hybrid aka 'Purple Haze' popping out another giant pitcher 'Blessed Isles' - (Spectabilis x Tobaica) x Sibuyanensis looking very truncata-esque, the leaves also are becoming more and more box shaped. hope you enjoy, Chris

Christian,
I have a couple of St. Hedwigs and they have been a joy to grow. The pitchers are almost a frosty green. Yours is beautiful, too. Mine are now growing on a bench, but the best presentation was when one was previously in a basket, surrounded by those tall, frosty green pitchers and dark leaves. Nice!
Your N. eymae x ephipiata is way cool. Can you share the origin of that plant? I'd love to add one to my collection.
Kind regards, T

That Eymae x Ephippiata was purchased from another forum member who said he got the seed three years ago from a west coast grower. Sorry, that's all I know about it.

a little YouTube video of mine: A wicked looking Hawaiian Paper Wasp licking up the nectar on the peristome of a Nepenthes 'Red Leopard' pitcher that's just waiting for it to fall in and become lunch...

Fantastic color on that one! I don't even have any of the hybrids with those species, or the species themselves, you're starting to make me jealous!

intermediate pitchers getting huge: 'Courage' - 'Rokko' x Albomarginata, dark - (thorelii x maxima) x albomarginata, dark loving the almost Burbidgeae-like colors on this one, it's been open for awhile and was even lighter before 'Caesarion' - 'Caesar' x Veitchii - (Merrilliana x Truncata) x Veitchii another one where I should've taken a photo last week when the peristome was fully extended: 'Riddler' - Spathulata x (Veitchii xx Tiveyi) crazy inflating pitcher Probably Alata x Truncata

Getting bleached out by the sun can actually look really nice! Reminds me of alba uppers, but it's just a plain old Ventricosa upper pitcher grown in full sun.
