Borneo; Ultra- basic Soil, Highland (1200 - 1600 m)
Synonym: phyllamphora Stapf.
Description: DANSER 277, KURATA 40
Stems: climbing, to 15 m; cylindrical in the lower part, triangular with 2 wings in upper, to 1.5 cm thick.
Leaves: petiolate, clasping the stem and decurrent into 2 wings over 1 internode; lamina oblong to lanceolate, coriaceous; 20 cm x 6 cm to 35 cm x 8 cm; margins hirsute (red); apex acute; base attenuate; veins: 3- 4, located in the outer 1/2 - 2/3 of lamina, pennate veins ascending.
Lower Pitchers: ovate or short ellipsoidal; 6 cm x 4 cm to 18 cm x 12 cm; 2 fimbriate wings present, to .2- .4 cm; mouth orbiculate, horizontal in the front, elevated towards the lid; peristome cylindrical, .4- 1.2 cm broad near lid, to .2- .5 cm wide; lid orbicular, slightly vaulted, to 3- 8 cm, apex rounded, base rounded, lower surface with a glandular crest in the basal part, delicately wavy margin; spur simple, inserted a few mm from lid, to 0.5 cm.
Upper Pitchers: originating rather abruptly from tendril, incurved and infudibulate, slightly contracted under the mouth; 5 cm x 3 cm to 13 cm x 7 cm; 2 prominent ribs present; mouth nearly round, horiontal in front; peristome cylindrical, prolongated into a neck 1- 3 cm long, delicately ribbed, to 8- 12 cm wide; lid broadly ovate, undulate, to 2- 6 cm, apex rounded, base rounded, lid glandular, the basal part keeled; spur thick and obtuse, to .8- 1 cm.
Inflorescence: a raceme, to 25- 35 cm; pedicels 2 flowered, 1- 1.5 cm long.
Indumentum: of the young parts short and brown, later deciduous and leaving brown points, tendrils pubescent.
Color: lower leaf purplish green above, upper leaf dark- green above, light- green below, lower pitcher creamy- yellow to light green with purple stiripes, upper pitcher light- green with purple blotches on upper part and lid only, peristome light- green with purple stripes.
