Synonym: bongso Tamin & Hotta
Description: DANSER 316, JEBB 24
Stems: climbing; triangular, to 0.5 cm thick.
Leaves: sessile, decurrent into 2 wings on the stem, thin- coriaceous; lamina linear- lanceolate to spathulate: 10 cm x 3 cm to 30 cm x 6 cm; apex acute; base attenuate; veins: 3- 6, located in the outer 1/2 of the lamina, pennate nerves numerous.
Lower Pitchers: ovate in lower half, gradually becoming cylindrical in upper half: to 16 cm x 5 cm; 2 ribs or thin, sparsely denticulate wings present; mouth oblique, acute towards lid; peristome expanded, crinkled, to .6- 2 cm wide; lid orbicular- ovate, to 5x4.5 cm, apex rounded, base rounded to cordate, keeled with a distinct midrib and 2 prominent lateral veins, with many large rimmed glands clustered about these; spur simple, filiform, inserted close to lid, to 0.5 cm.
Upper Pitchers: infundibulate, sharply triangular in section at base, almost cylindrical above: to 25 cm x 8 cm; 2 prominent ribs present; mouth oblique, acute towards lid; peristome expanded, crinkled, to .8- 3.5 cm wide; lid orbicular- ovate, to 4.5/7 cm, apex rounded, base rounded to cordate, lid keeled with a distinct midrib and 2 prominent lateral veins, with many large rimmed glands clustered about these; spur simple, filiform, inserted close to lid, to 0.5 cm.
Inflorescence: a raceme, to 50 cm; pedicels 2 flowered, 2- 2.5 cm long; bracts not present.
Indumentum: sparse.
Color: Pitchers green with slight red spotting.
Distinguishing Features: Large pitchers, lack of glandular processes, venation pattern and 2 flowered pedicels.
