Description: DANSER 323
Stems: climbing, to 2-3 m; cylindrical or obtusely angular, to .4- .7 cm thick.
Leaves: sessile, semi- amplexicaul; lamina oblong to lanceolate or spathulate: 5 cm x 2 cm to 18 cm x 5.5 cm; apex acute, round, or attenuate; base rounded or cordate; veins: 3- 5, located in the outer 2/5 of lamina, pennate veins indistinct, irregularly reticulate.
Lower Pitchers: infundibulate in the lower part, often slightly ventricose in the middle, cylindrical in the upper part: to 20 cm; 2 fimbriate wings present; mouth horizontal, elongated to neck; peristome flattened, to 0.8 cm wide; lid sub- orbicular, to 3.5- 5 cm, apex rounded, base cordate, glandular, with many differently long and spreading bristles.
Upper Pitchers: abruptly originating from tendril, infundibulate, often slightly contracted towards the mouth: 11 cm x 4 cm to 17 cm x 6 cm; 2 prominent ribs present; mouth horizontsl, elongated to neck; peristome flattened, to .2- 1 cm wide; lid orbicular, to 3.5- 5 cm, apex rounded, base cordate, lid glandular, with many differently long and spreading bristles; spur flattened, branched or not, inserted close to lid, to .2- .5 cm.
Inflorescence: a raceme, to 40 cm; pedicels 2 flowered, 1- 2.2 cm long; bracts filiform.
Indumentum: very short and dense on youg parts, usually deciduous, rarely persistent on tendrils and below mouth.
Color: pitcher white with red spots.
Distinguishing Features: very similar to N. sanguinea and N. gracillima.
