Description: DANSER 358, KURATA 60
Stems: climbing, to 15 m; cylindrical, to .4- .8 cm thick.
Leaves: petiolate, with narrow wings forming a semi- amplexicaul sheath; lamina elliptic or oblong- lanceolate: 10 cm x 5 cm to 30 cm x 10 cm; apex rounded; base abruptly contracted; veins: 4- 5, located in the outer 2/3 of lamina, pennate nerves numerous, irregularly reticulate.
Lower Pitchers: rounded at the base, conical to the top: 10 cm x 5 cm to 20 cm x 12 cm; 2 fimbriate wings present, to 4 cm; mouth ovate- oblique, elevated towards lid; peristome flattened- cylindrical, .8- 2.5 cm broad near lid, to 0.4 cm wide; lid orbicular, slightly vaulted, to 5- 12 cm; apex rounded, base rounded, with 2 keels formed by 2 principal nerves; spur simple, inserted close to lid, to 2 cm.
Upper Pitchers: narrowly funnel- shaped: 10 cm x 3 cm to 30 cm x 10 cm; 2 prominent ribs present; mouth ovate, horizontal in front, elevated towards lid; peristome flattened- cylindrical, .6- 2.5 cm broad near lid, sometimes forming a trapezoid in front, to .4- .6 cm wide; lid orbicular, slightly vaulted, to 5- 12 cm, apex rounded, base rounded; lid with 2 keels formed by 2 principal nerves; spur simple, inserted close to lid, to 2 cm.
Inflorescence: a raceme, to 10- 50 cm; pedicels 1 flowered, 1- 2.5 cm long; bracts not present.
Indumentum: thin but dense tomentum of delicate and longer hairs in young parts, becoming sparse, glabrous upper leaves.
Color: leaf blade dark- green above, light- green below, tendril light- green, pitcher green with red or purple spots in different degrees, often blackish purple with green spots in the lower pitcher, peristome green with dark red stripes, lid like pitcher.
