Malaysia; Moss Forest, Highland (900 - 1800 m)
Synonym: pumila Griff.
Description: DANSER 367
Stems: climbing; irregularly obtuse, rarely sharply triangular, to .4- .9 cm thick.
Leaves: sessile, amplexicaul, clasping the stem wholly with rounded lobes; lamina lanceolate- spathulate: 12 cm x 3 cm to 35 cm x 6 cm; apex obtuse to acute; base cordate; veins: 3- 5, located in the outer 1/2 of the lamina, pennate veins indistinct, irregularly reticulate.
Lower Pitchers: ovate or nearly ovate in the lower part, sub- cylindrical or somewhat narrowed in the upper part: 14 cm x 4.5 cm to 30 cm x 9 cm; 2 fimbriate wings present, to 0.4 cm; mouth oblique, elevated, acuminate towards the lid; peristome flattened, to .15- .2 cm wide; lid orbicular- ovate to ovate, to 2.5 cm, apex rounded, base rounded, glandular towards the midrib, glandless towards the margin; spur simple or divided into up to 5 branches, to .3- .5 cm.
Upper Pitchers: gradually or abruptly originating from tendril, infundibulate towards the base and tubulose towards the mouth or wholly infundibulate, mostly narrow, rarely wide, often somewhat ventricose then contracted in the upper part: 15 cm x 3 cm to 24 cm x 7.5 cm; 2 prominent ribs present; mouth horizontal in front, acuminate and elevated towards lid; peristome flattened, broader on sides, .2- 1.2 cm broad, to .1- .5 cm wide; lid broadly ovate- cordate, to 4.5- 8 cm, apex rounded, base cordate, lid glandular, without appendages; spur simple, inserted.3 cm from lid, to 1- 1.8 cm.
Inflorescence: a coarse raceme, to 55 cm; pedicels 2 flowered, 2- 2.5 cm long; bracts not present.
Indumentum: stem almost none from the beginning, pitchers and young leaves beneath the mid rib, hairy later glabrous.
Color: pitchers red to light-green or green with red flush to upper part.
Distinguishing Features: extremely variable species
