Synonyms: boschiana v. lowii Hook.f., faizaliana Adam & Wilc., fallax G.Beck., fucosa Beckwith, maxima Becc., veitchii End.
Description: DANSER 376, KURATA 68
Stems: climbing, to 10 m; cylindrical or slightly triangular with 2 wings, to .6- 1 cm thick.
Leaves: petiolate, canaliculate, with wings, decurrent over one internode; lamina oblong- lanceolate: 15 cm x 4 cm to 25 cm x 7 cm; apex acute; base abruptly contracted; veins: 2- 3, located in the outer 1/4 part, pennate veins irregularly reticulate.
Lower Pitchers: cylindrical, slightly ventricose in the lower part: 10 cm x 3 cm to 18 cm x 4 cm; 2 fimbriate wings present; mouth orbiculate, oblique; peristome cylindrical, broader near lid, to .2- .5 cm wide; lid orbicular, to 3- 5 cm, apex rounded, base rounded, with a ventral glandular crest in the basal part and a glandular boss near the apex; spur simple, inserted .5- 1.5 cm from lid, to .5- 1.5 cm.
Upper Pitchers: tubulate in the lower half, infundibulate in the upper half: 15 cm x 3 cm to 25 cm x 5 cm; 2 prominent ribs present; mouth orbicular, oblique; peristome cylindrical, broader near lid, to .2- .7 cm wide; lid orbicular, to 3- 5 cm, apex rounded, base cordate, lid with a ventral glandular crest in the basal part and a glandular boss near the apex; spur simple, inserted.5- 1.5 cm from lid, to .5- 1.5 cm.
Inflorescence: a raceme, to 25- 35 cm; pedicels 2 flowered, 1 cm long; bracts not present.
Indumentum: very dense in young parts, less dense later, spreading long brown hairs, young pitchers ferrugineous.
Color: leaf blade dark- green above, light- green below, tendril yellow- green, pitcher yellow- green with purple blotches or stripes, lid yellow- green with purple spots, reddish brown hairs distinct on the stem and the leaf beneath.
Distinguishing Features: orbicular lid.
