I have a N. Ventrata and right now it is growing in a pure peat soil. there is also bunches of small neps growing out of the soil.....should i keep it in the peat or put it in something else......
also any growing info on this plant would be helpfull...i really have no idea what i am doing.....

From what you say, your Nepenthes sounds like it is doing well. I don't use a pure peat mix. You can see my thread on soils to use for more information and choices. I use a mix of peat, pumice rock, and sphagnum moss. That should be fine. The little neps growing out of the ground are sideshoots or basals off the growth stem underneath the soil. Ventratas are mass produced so it wouldn't surprise me if you got this plant at some home do it store or whatever. I've seen ventratas potted in pure peat in these places that looked like they were grown in something else and then transplanted into another pot and sent out. If you do transplant it, leave as much of the rootball intact. That way there will be less shock to your plant especially if you just bought it. I wouldn't suggest transplanting it all until the plant gets acclimated if you just purchased it.

Thank you. I purchased the plant at a market night in san dimas but it was from a guy who grew neps......

lol were probally thinking of a different san dimas considering you are in texas and im in cali lol........i was born there however i go to school in redlands.....and i doubt that san dimas could be redlands east valley highschool...i swear they are like mostly samoans......and huge.....lol you should watch them do the hacka....
