Ed, I have a cross of that but probably a different clone or grex cross. Mine aren' like anything you have shown. I haev more speckled pitchers like an amp but with a ventri shape.

Cool, do you mind post some pictures, will like to see a different form than this one. This one is actually called x Garden Tech, BE introduced this one last year to Singapore Horticulture Exhibition.

These will be interesting when used for breeding. I like the dark solid color and since these are seedlings they stand a greater chance for making healthy flowers and better seed pods. Imagine crossing this to your red mirabilis, or by then your red mirabilis x spectabilis hybrid or even to a truncata would make fine results.
A lot more to look forward to in the future!

I've got the opposite of this cross .... ventricosa x ampullaria ( .. I'm not sure where it originated) In the Borneo's Exotics version the pitchers are not as rounded but the color is exceptional.

Michael: still a few years to come for the bloom I think, I do see the prospect of this one hybrid and fortunately this one hybrid from BE is a seeds grown, each individual plant had a bit different pitcher shape and color, I have another plant and the pitcher is not that dark red and a bit more elongated than this one. @sam: yes, your opposite cross looks rounder and got more of the amp shapes and coloration and not much on the peristome stripping. Still a nice looking one and so good to have all the leaf having pitchers like that. Ed
