In honor of the tradition started by our leader, Sam, of naming his plants using colorful Hawaiian names, I have named this hybrid using a term common here in the American South. Because of its bright red peristome, this hybrid of (truncata x thorelii) x maxima is hereby named Nepenthes "Redneck." I realize that the term may not translate well into other cultures.

I think we'll know the name long after "Judith Finn" is long lost/forgotten.
