Below we have hybrids made with N. northiana, N. spathulata, N. sanguinea and N. clipeata x ventricosa. Can you find the common denominator? N. Chou NN3740989N. Paris NN2060395N. Laputa NN3721033Abere NN5230103

The answer isn't immediately clear to me, but N. Laputa??? I hope this is Hawaiian, not Spanish...otherwise, what did she did do to deserve that name at such a young age?

Lapuda was the secondary drop location for the bomb in Dr. Strangelove. I'm not sure I want to know what it means in Spanish.
boris ..... Perhaps I was not clear. These hybrids are crosses made with a common plant. What plant is it?

Haha, Laputa was also the name of the fictional floating land in 'Gulliver's Travels'. Because Jonathon Swift was such a clever Irish satirist, it was assumed that Laputa, which translates to 'whore' in Spanish, was deliberately used to poke fun at England and the Royal Society. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laputadvg

No!
All these hybrids look, at this age, very much like the parent plants identified. However, there is a clue in all of them that relates to the unidentified common parent ( .... in some cases the male and in others the female).

**** N. merrilliana **** N. merrilliana x northiana (Chou) ;D ;D ;D N. spathulata x merrilliana (Paris) N. sanguinea x merrilliana (Lapuda) N. (clipeata x ventricosa) x merrilliana (Abere) Good work Jonathan! N. merrilliana does seem to pretty consistently pass on the dis-symmetry of it leaf venation. nepenthesfanitic13 .... did you read the post carefully?

Sorry, I misunderstood the question I thought you meant that all the were offspring of one of the plants you listed on the first post. My mistake
