I hope everything is fine in your area. Japan looks in a terrible condition and unfortunately there were a few deaths, but it looks like most of the population has thankfully managed to get to higher ground.
How about Hawaii? Sorry, I don't have a TV and all I can do is read about this online and figured I might post this here to see how the hawaiian visitors of this forum are doing? I see that mostly the waves have died down in their strength, but seems like everyone is being put on alert as the aftershocks can be just as devestating or even more deadlier depending on the tide levels on impact. Hows the situation for you guys? Everything ok?

Thanks for your concern. Although there was of course property damage near the coast, I am unaware of any deaths here in Hawaii. We had plenty of warning and the State seems to be very happy with the way the public reacted to orders to evacuate low areas near the coast. Given the magnitude of the quake it could have been much worse.

We had our own little earthquake as the sirens were going off warning of a tsunami. We went to bed a little anxious but comfortable in the knowledge that unless its a 700 foot wave we are pretty secure.
Recent volcanic activity is a more practical concern for us .....
Any words I might offer the people of Japan would be insufficient to the magnitude of their tragedy. We all share in their loss.
I am glad to hear that things are looking good in Hawaii. Property damage is difficult, but hey, its no biggie. I agree, my prayers go to the Japanese right now. The reports about people being washed away and lost is increasing everyday.
