Hi,
I'm growing a Nepenthes Gentle in my house where the heat and humidity is great, the plants are seedlings and they are doing fine and I was wondering if for the summer it would be okay to keep it outside. Here in NJ the summers are around 85 degrees fahrenheit.

It should be OK to keep them outside in the Summer. If you are growing seedlings, the chances are slim that you are growing N."Gentle" since this is a tissue cultured Hybid, and not available as seedlings. You might have procured seeds of something crossed with N."Gentle". As far as I am aware, the N."Gentle"clone is male.

By 'Seedling' do you mean a small plant? Younger plants are usually less adaptable than mature plants.

I mean a small plant, it has large leaves and has a small producing pitcher, it is the size of a pin. It is barely open. I am sure it is just a younger plant, and I can tell it's a Gentle by its deep red and white spotted tendrils. The tendrils are short too.

I would not recommend keeping the plant outside for the summer. Here in New Jersey, Summers are usually hot and dry, and can occasionally reach over 100 degrees Farenheight.

I have kept a number of plants outside in the summer here in the eastern US, though I have never grown "Gentle." I would say that the risks and rewards are both higher than growing plants indoors. You simply cannot duplicate sunlight indoors and I suspect rain is good for them as well. Biggest risks are pests, such as insects and squirrels, sunburn, and warm summer nights that will stress highland plants. Be very careful acclimating the plant to sunlight by gradually increasing the sun exposure.

Well, in my experience this plant is very easy and likes sunlight (I use to give to it 5 or 6 hours of direct sunlight) and it was also very dry during the spring and winter, but the temperatures WERE cooler...
