I spotted a pitcher opening on my [i/]N. veitchii[/i] (h) from EP a short while back. Yesterday, i had a look at the now opened pitcher and took a few pics. I couldn't help but notice what appeared to be the image of a man's face on the far side of the peristome, not unlike a picture we've probably all seen of the 'man in the moon'. what the!?! Its true, there is a big nose, with the mouth below it, and the chin sticking out! Amazing! now we will have to start saying, "the man in the pitcher!" lol!

The delicate coloring (and wide peristome) of N. veitchii is really, really attractive to me. Where some species are bold and dazzle the eyes, this one is frequently understated and subtle in its beauty, and that, my friend, is a good thing.
