N. inermis Danser (1928) Sumatra; Moss Forest, Highland (1800 - 2300 m) Description: DANSER 312
Stems: climbing; irregularly and obtusely triangular, to .3- .5 cm thick. Leaves: sessile, semi- amplexicaul; lamina lanceolate- spathulate: 5 cm x 1 cm to 12 cm x 2.5 cm; apex acute or obtuse; base attenuate; veins: 3, located in the outer 1/2 of lamina, pennate veins irregularly reticulate. Lower Pitchers: UNKNOWN Upper Pitchers: originating gradually or abruptly from tendril, tubulose or slightly infundibulate in the lower half, infundibulate in the upper half: 5 cm x cm to 9 cm x 5 cm; wings or ribs not present; mouth laterally compressed, horizontal; peristome almost none; lid very narrowly cuneiform, to 5x.4 cm, apex rounded, base attenuate; lid glandular; spur simple, inserted close to the lid, to .3- .4 cm. Inflorescence: a raceme, to 17 cm; pedicels 1 flowered, 0.3 cm long; bracts filiform. Indumentum: dense in the young parts, later deciduous, persisting on the stems above the axils and the inflorescence. Color: pitchers green, sometimes striped with brown at the mouth rim, with small red- brown spots on the lid. Distinguishing Features: peculiarly formed pitchers, almost no peristome and very narrow lid.
