The following pictures are from my underground vault that I made this winter. The vault was created out of an abandoned steam tunnel used by the city 40 to 50 years ago. The dimensions are roughly 10 x 20', the ceiling is about 1' below ground, deepest is probably 10' below. Above the ceiling is public sidewalk.
All sides of the vault are insulated with foam insulation that has a light mylar finish to it. (Which comes off easily) Humidity ranges from 80% to 50% depending how much I crank it, and I currently have the temperatures run 80 degrees during the day and fall to 65 at night.
I also installed internet, cable and a hammock which keeps me there for hours. A microwave and mini fridge are there for tissue culture needs, but also works well at providing me beer and nachos.
