Every once in a while you come across an interesting variation of a particular hybrid that has its own look and form. I must have nearly twenty individual clones of thorelii x TM and have seen quite a bit of variation among them. They range in color and appearance. But one particular clone has a very interesting peristome. This photo is not of a newly opening pitcher. But look at the maturity and age based on this pitcher color development and age-appearance. The peristome here does not fold back as the others but remain open-funnel shaped. I plan to use this in breeding and I bet this trait will be carried on to each seedling of any/all future crosses. M

That'd be awesome crossed with a parent with a large peristome (like platychila). It'd be a giant funnel!
