Well, that IS a bit odd, but not unusual. Over the years, I've had a few plants produce some strange looking things that were mostly developed lids, and stunted pitchers, especially after a cold and dry period. - Rich

Zero, I think this is the coolest nep mutation ever. I see the large lid isn't the only part of the mutation, the front of the pitcher looks a bit odd too... Would this fall under Sam's idea of mutations revealing or giving hints toward a less evolved state?
