N. maxima has always been listed as a highland species, yet this plant grows equally well for either cool or warm conditons. This is EP's N. maxima (M) next to a N. maxima x TM hybrid. M

Your right they pretty much grow anywhere, mines just gone outside in the garden, and this is the UK in April! (no pitchers at present but that's allways what happens with our miserable winters!) Actually it seems like it's not very highland anyhow, it suffered leaf damage from the cold outside whereas some tougher Neps haven't yet. 'gentle' seems to be tougher than both parents...
