I've always found aristo's uniqueness pretty cool. If that vine or basal ever needs a trim, let me know Although, it dosen't make to many nice hybrids except for lowii x aristo.

I really like the unique shape, does anyone think N. klossii is ugly? My favorite N. aristolochioides hybrid is N. thorelii x aristolochioides. -Jeremiah-

Hey Sam, A lot of nep's look like crap to if they are really distubed, and this is very true N. aristolochioides as well. However, when the plant is growing in it's natural shape, hanging the pitchers with the leaves spread, it looks amazing. And seriously, N. clipeata is one ugly species. The pitchers look nice one at a time, but when you look at the plant from above, it just looks like a very unhappy water lily. Actually water lilies look better. N. clipeata has my vote for the lamest nep.

N. clipeata ... so ugly that the pitchers hide under the leaves for shame. ;D OK, we've got aristo and clipeata. Anyone else want to nominate an "ugly duck"?

N.danseri. Not exactly ugly but un-interesting and a copycat of gracilis

Hi All, Well grown aristo, Sam. You know what they say though, 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. Cheers, Geoff

In the case of crossing N. aristocholioides with a N. thorelii hybrid or close relative, no. They have very similar shaped pitchers in the first place.
