N. macrovulgaris Turnbull & Middleton (1987) Borneo; Ultra- basic Soil, Highland (300 - 1200 m)
Stems: climbing; cylindrical, to .3- .6 cm thick. Leaves: sessile, slightly decurrent; lamina linear- lanceolate: 8 cm x 2 cm to 20 cm x 4 cm; apex acute; base decurrent; veins: 1- 3, located in the outer part of the lamina. Lower Pitchers: ovate in the lower part, cylindrical in the upper part: 10 cm x 3 cm to 20 cm x 6 cm; 2 fimbriate wings present, to .2- .6 cm; mouth ovate, oblique to the lid; peristome cylindrical, to .2- .4 cm wide; lid elliptic, to 3- 5 cm, apex rounded, base rounded, without a ventral glandular crest; spur simple, inserted close to lid. Upper Pitchers: slightly ventricose in the lower part tubular to narrowly infundibulate in the upper part: 10 cm x 3 cm to 30 cm x 8 cm; 2 ribs presen; mouth ovate, oblique; peristome cylindrical, somewhat expanded, to 0.6 cm wide; lid elliptic, to 3- 5 cm, apex rounded, base rounded, lid without a ventral glandular crest; spur simple, inserted close to lid. Inflorescence: a raceme. Indumentum: UNKNOWN Color: pitchers are dark purple or green, sometimes slightly glaucous, or flecked with red, peristome green sometimes striped with red, lid red or green, sometimes flecked with red. Distinguishing Features: differing from N. leptochila by the expanded peristome and sessile leaves.
