Description: DANSER 380, KURATA 69
Stems: prostrate, rarely climbing, to 2 m; cylindrical in the basal part, obtusely triangular, to .3- .5 cm thick.
Leaves: sessile, amplexicaul; lamina lanceolate: 5 cm x 1.5 cm to 18 cm x 3 cm; apex acute or rounded; base cordate; veins: 2- 3, located in the outer 2/3 to 3/5 of lamina, pennate nerves irregularly reticulate.
Lower Pitchers: globose in the lower part, coniacl towards the mouth: 4 cm x 2 cm to 7 cm x 3 cm; 2 fimbriate wings present; mouth ovate, very oblique; peristome cylindrical, ribs indistinct, to .1- .15 cm wide; lid ovate, to 1- 2 cm, apex rounded, base rounded, with numerous bristles on the upper surface, without a glandular crest on the lower surface; spur simple, inserted close to lid.
Upper Pitchers: cylindrical in the upper part, ventricose in the lower part: 10 cm x 2 cm to 15 cm x 3.5 cm; 2 prominent ribs present; mouth ovate, very oblique; peristome cylindrical or flattened, ribs indistinct, to .1- .3 cm wide; lid ovate, to 1- 2 cm, apex rounded, base rounded, lid with numerous bristles on the upper surface, without a glandular crest on the lower surface; spur simple, inserted close to lid.
Inflorescence: a small raceme, to 7- 10 cm; pedicels 1 flowered, 0.5 cm long; bracts not present.
Indumentum: only present in young pitchers and inflorescence, appressed, stellate.
Color: stem dark- red to purple, lamina dark- green to purple- green above, green below, tendril red - purple, lower pitcher creamy- white to light- green with purple blotches, upper pitcher & lid dark- red to purple green outside, light- green inside, peristome light- green.
Distinguishing Features: numerous bristles on upper surface of lid.
