I hope to successfully have a thread where members can post their species pollen and able to properly store them for a limited time period where members can access rare or hard to get pollen to cross pollinate with their female species. While we should maintain a breeding program for true species, hybrids on the other hand also has its benefits. Imagine if someone has N. rajah pollen and all of a sudden a female burbidgeae becomes available. N. Alisaputrana can be remade in the greenhouse and produce a highly desirable hybrid!

Everyone that posts in this thread and plans on being able to offer pollen should read this article first:
pages 23-29 (I think) of the March 2006 CPN: Tropical Pitcher Plant (Nepenthes: Nepenthaceae) Pollen Germinability and Storage: Conservation

Thank you for your suggestion....I agree that people should know what the heck they are doing before posting that they will have pollen available.....and I would be more than glad to read that article if I had access to it, but I do not. I have conversed with Michael (Rainforest) several times and he has given me very useful information regarding the collecting and storage of pollen....I made sure all my questions were answered and I felt confident in being able to properly collect and store the pollen before I posted.....so I do not feel that reading the suggested article should be a prerequisite to offering pollen under this thread, if it is a must to read the article first just let me know. But like I said, I agree that anyone who posts here should definitely know how to properly collect and store the pollen before posting that they will have pollen available. I do appreciate your suggestion though, as I am sure that is a wonderful article with great information. Victoria

It's long, but the storage part is amazing. Lots of people seem to still be in the dark about how to properly store pollen, and about for how long it will keep. That article IMO is a good reference for both.

Is there a way you could post it I'm not too sure if I can access it since no more membership with the ICPS.

I would like to hear your recommendations in creating a pollen bank for rare species and how to post, note, store and send pollen to interested parties. Since the majority of species breeding is now being done on the hobbyists side, I'd like to see and hear your suggestions in creating a body to help make species seed more obtainable for all to grow.
Please note what may be considered insignificant or in excess to you may be a rarity for someone else somewhere else.

I would like to hear more on how to properly store pollen and prepare it for transport.
And more on the pollen bank itself.
