Geoff,
Those crosses sound fantastic. Every year more, and more, unbelievable stuff comes from your nursery. Once orders make it through LA and more talk in the forums confirms that I think you'll see more group orders or individual orders occur because there will be less apprehension. Last year when LA destroyed those plants on multiple orders, consequently tension arose within the Nepenthes community about importing Nepenthes. Hopefully that will be an anamoly or a thing of the past and we can get back to normal again.

They will include N.truncata x ephippiata, N.ventricosa x ephippiata, N.lowii x campanulata, N.boschiana x veitchii-H/L, N.lowii x boschiana and many more. Oooohhh... Those do sound fantastic. I would love to get my hands on those particular N. ephippiata crosses. xvart.

I thought CPJ used to bring them in back in the day? I wish they would again. I'm running out of LL species to collect. Plus, EP's plants are tops. I contacted Geoff and Andrea about a month or so ago about importing from them again. I've been trying to determine if I want to do a small preliminary order , or go ahead and do a larger one. If I knew for certain the plants would get routed to the NY station where I have everything else routed, I would have already pulled the trigger.

Michael ... if you did decide to initiate a small order I would definitely be interested in participating!

Is it possible to just pay extra for DHL and have it sent more or less to the POE of your choice? IIRC, DHL also has an agent present to handle importation documents, etc, so the "LA fiasco" technically shouldn't happen with them. It's more expensive, but it'd be worth doing until people are able to send through LA again without problems.
I've also wondered what the deal with LA is now. Has the problem been fixed or not? Will it ever be fixed? How would anyone really know if the offending inspector(s) had be taken care of? I mean...is the plan to just never ship through LA again or what?

From what I'm hearing it should be safe to go through LA again. As of yet, I haven't heard of anyone bringing in anything yet from EP through LA. Dean Cook might be getting some plants. I do know that in the near future plants will be going through like old times. So as soon as anybody hears anything, let the rest of us know how the order went through.
Also, looks official on the BE price list for first offering seed grown N. hamatas from an undisclosed area. They will be expensive and as of now, the CP Jungle seems to be the source for preorders from BE. BE says they're "very hard" and ready to go. That's great for some of us that don't grow in terrariums. Will the macrophyllas be far behind?

Hmmm, i never really thought of it, but sure. For those of you that may or may not know, i have my own little nursery at coastalcarnivores.com. We are tiny, but growing.
It was gonna be a wholesale order, but if i get enough interest than why not! Anybody whose interested lemme know. I'll post a thread on this later.

Esteemed Colleagues, Tony, www.exoticplantsplus.com/, is offering Nepenthes for the first time again. Most of the stuff is from BE and EP. Other arrivals are on the way from Malesiana and the list will be more extensive as plants get established. Tony's Nepenthes were some of the best around so it's great to have him back in the community. Welcome back Tony and we look forward to getting some of your plants! Joel

Seems like larger Nepenthes, especially Exotica stuff, is fetching large prices on Ebay. Recently Sunbelle's N. izumiae x truncata ending up over 200.00 and a N. briggsiana Peter D'Amato rooted cutting ended up around 240.00 if memory serves. There's a large N. ventricosa x trusmadiensis going at 162.00 and the auction isn't over yet. The demand for larger, high quality, or highly sought after Nepenthes is really growing now. There wasn't this much demand a few years ago.
